Question for you: can you spot all the devices in the room that run on electricity?
Light bulb. When you flip the switch, electricity flows instantly and the room lights up! Have you turned on the light today?
On TV. To watch videos, you’ll need electricity—otherwise, nothing will show up on the screen!
Computer or tablet. On your desk – your knowledge and entertainment center! When you turn on your computer or tablet, electricity wakes up the screen, turns on the sound, and lets you embark on adventures on the internet, in games, or in the world of learning.
Even wireless devices need to be charged, which means they need to be connected to a power source.
In the fridge. Open the fridge door – electricity ensures that your favorite yogurt or ice cream stays cold and delicious.
In the kitchen. When parents prepare breakfast or lunch, electricity heats up the stove, kettle, or toaster!
In the washing machine. When your favorite shirt or pants get dirty, the washing machine uses electricity to make them clean and fresh again!
